SHEIVA’s music boasts livid lyricism paired with rule-breaking musical stylings. Drawing upon their experience as a queer Brit raised by Iranian parents in Deptford, their life and creative practice centres nonconformity. The breadth of their genre-defying sound matches the exhaustive list of instruments they play: ranging from piano, guitar and drums to traditional Persian instruments like the tombak, santoor and the ney (an ancient Iranian flute). Through ineffaceable live performances and radio appearances - and with a unique way of converting feelings of rage and exasperation at the world around them into a palpable witty and playful experience for their audience -  SHEIVA has quickly cemented their spot as a central and rising figure of London’s underground music scene.
