Polizia Romantico is due out 30th April via Boukan Records.
With his new EP, Bamao Yendé is embracing an emotional, R&B side to his sound. On Polizia Romantico the Paris-based musician, DJ and Boukan Records label owner blends heartfelt R&B romanticism with the bass, garage and afrobeat influences present in his work to craft five slick, rich tracks of intricate, intimate and joyous sonic expression. Polizia Romantico also sees Bamao bring his own vocals into the mix, playing around with his voice as a versatile instrument to create the choruses and experimenting with vox to add different levels of deepness.
An integral and prolific figure within Paris’ underground scene, Bamao Yendé – who is also one third of Nyoko Bokbae – has collaborated with the likes of Le Diouck and lux18 and last March played InfiniteFX’s Boiler Room takeover. Through his Boukan Records imprint he’s released work from artists including Amor Satyr, Dadifox, Mixbwé and Tatyana Jane.
